On 25 November 2015 Pegasus, the traditional symbol of Britain’s Airborne Forces replaced the Striking Eagle as the emblem of 16 Air Assault Brigade. To mark this a statue of Bellerophon astride Pegasus will be erected in front of the Brigade Headquarters in Merville Barracks.  The current statue of The Striking Eagle will be moved to 16 Air Assault Brigade’s Memorial Garden in Merville Barracks.

To achieve this we will need to raise £80.000, a significant sum of money.  The personal, and service, details of anyone making a donation, however large or small, will be recorded in two rolls of honour which we will hold in Headquarters 16 Air Assault Brigade and in the Airborne Assault Museum in Duxford.
